With Lambda available in kindle format and then paperback as well, I was thinking where do I go from here? I am now a self-published author (I still can’t believe it, after all these years), so what’s next? First of all, I am greateful for each and everyone who’s bought my very first book. As of this writing, 7 kindle versions and 4 paperback. I know it doesn’t look like much, but it means the world to me.
I am also finishing up my next novel (this one will be at about 90.000 words, so a little more than half of Lambda’s length). I can’t promise an exact date yet, but unless something crazy happens I should have my first draft done by June 20th 2021. After that, I will take a week or two off from writing and then, as I begin editing, I will also start posting it on my webpage.
Getting close to that goal however, I realized that my Webpage sorely needed an overhaul of the content version 2021. One of the issues I had was that Lambda was hosted on 43 different pages (lambda/prologue, lambda/chapter-1, etc..). And even though I was able to hide that from the Menu and for a visitor it didn’t change much, it was still causing problems for me navigating it. In other words, it would be a pain in the ass to keep it as it was and add another 20 or so pages for the upcoming novel. So I completely redid that, deleted the old pages and included the cover in the new Lambda site, with fancier “next/previous page” buttons. It’s somewhat technical but hey, I’m learning better webpage design! And my new book will be done the same way.
I was also watching some WordPress webinars on how to make the pages more accessible to various audiences and so I redesigned a new homepage that explains how it all works, as well as my about page that now includes a contact form (currently has some issues, working on fixing it). I also added a few extra social buttons for sharing. For the same reason I also completely changed the reviews page. In fact, I found out there is a built-in star rating and together with a few other tricks that I learned along the way, I am now calling them 30 second reviews. I do them for fun but hey, if anyone finds any fun recomendations to play or watch, that’s great! There’s currently 20 Video Game reviews, 16 Board Game reviews, 23 Movie reviews and 12 Shows / TV Series reviews.
One last thing, I will try to prepare one blog post over the weekends and publish regularly on Mondays. Depending on the week, I’ll use the blog post to link to any new reviews that I added (of both current stuff I’m watching / playing or older that I still remember well), my thoughts on things and whatnot.
