Editing my first novel

This week I wrote a review of a movie that I’ve watched, called 45 Years, but mostly focussed on editing my first novel Lambda. So far that consisted of minor edits and fixing typos, because I am happy with how the first few chapters turned out. As I go through the rest of the book, there might be whole paragraphs or even chapters that need to be rewritten and perhaps even the story changed – we’ll see.

I don’t want to speak too early, but at least so far rereading and editing is pretty fun. I honestly thought the best part would be writing it and then the subsequent editing would be annoying or boring, so I’m really excited to find out that is no the case.

Furthermore, since I did not have a complete plan or an outline for Lambda before I started, going through it a second time will piece it together nicely. I will continue making these kind of blog posts saying which chapters were updated and at the end of it all, I will say if I believe it has reached a final printable version (minus formatting / proof reading), or if I plan to work on it some more.

Anyhow, talking about specifics, this week I’ve gone through Chapters 1-5 (check the Index for links to every chapter, or access them through the Menu at the top of the page).

Thank you for reading!
