The End of a Long Road

I started with the idea of this book – Lambda – in the beginning of 2014. Four years later and I have finally completed my first draft! Though to be fair, most of it was written in 2017/2018, after I got married to an amazing woman, Claire, and moved to the U.S. I do realise that there are likely chapters or parts that will need to be reordered or even rewritten completely, but I focussed on getting it done first. I don’t want to discourage any potential readers from reading it and providing me feedback, just be aware that this will not be the final version.

Regardless of how the whole story comes together, I am extremely happy because it is the first novel that I started and actually finished. Lambda contains approximately 160.000 words. There were many times where I had found out that perhaps my approach to writing was wrong or that I did not think ahead enough – it is a learning process after all and it will indubitably help me with future writing projects.

Without further ado, I hope you enjoy reading and if you want to be notified about future blog updates on your email, I added a “Follow” button to the site.

Just a question, did you write it in vim and used wc to get the word count out?

    1. Actually it’s all just the (free) WordPress theme that allows for the automatic word count. Originally I was writing it in latex, but it then became too much of a hustle to keep it updated both on my computer and online.
